Mr. Lovgren

Illaria G. A.

On November 7th I interviewed Mr. Lovgren.

I chose to interview him due to his positive remarks on my schoolwork and my performance in his class.

He has been teaching for a total of 37 years, 9 of them here at Northwest.

The first question I asked him was, “What made you start teaching, why do you still teach right now?” He replied with the same answer for both parts. “I started teaching because I believe this is what God wanted me to do”.

Then, I learned that if he were to wish for anything in the world it would be for wisdom, that way he would know how to deal with situations the world has.

I also learned that he likes to spend his free time being involved with school sports and concessions, reading, and collecting coins.

A fun question I asked was, “Would you rather be invisible or be able to fly, and why?” He answered with the option to fly, “that way I can get to places quicker, and I hate to run”.

With my final question I learned that he likes science in general because of the thought process with solving scientific problems and questions.

By the end of the interview, I learned that Mr. Lovgren started to teach because it was God’s calling to him, and that he continues teaching to this day due to that reason. Mr. Lovgren is a caring person who will let his students know when they do good, and so he is someone who can lift spirits of those he teaches.
